What Is Peakah? How Australia's Hotel Price Comparison Works
The Problem Peakah Solves
The same hotel room in Sydney, Melbourne or the Gold Coast lists at different prices across Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Wotif, Hotels.com and Stayz — and the cheapest platform is different for every property and every date. Without checking all six simultaneously, there is no way to know you're getting the best available rate. Most Australian travellers either don't know this or don't bother — which is why most overpay.
Peakah is a hotel price comparison tool built specifically for Australia. It searches every major booking platform at once and shows you the cheapest available rate for each property, with a direct link to book at that price. You stop overpaying the moment you use it.
How Peakah Works
Enter your destination, check-in and check-out dates, and number of guests. Peakah pulls live pricing from Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Wotif, Hotels.com and Stayz, then displays all available properties ranked by price. Each listing shows the cheapest available rate across all platforms, the platform offering that rate, the property's review score, star rating and amenities.
When you find the property you want, Peakah links you directly to the booking page on the cheapest platform. You book there — at the rate Peakah found — rather than returning to a platform you used by default and potentially paying more.
Peakah doesn't charge booking fees or commissions. The comparison is free.
How Much Can You Actually Save?
The savings depend on the destination and the specific property. In Peakah's comparison of 50 dual-listed Sydney CBD hotels, Agoda was cheaper than Booking.com on 49 out of 50 properties, with average weekly savings of $269 per booking. The largest single-property saving found: $876 per week at Rydges Australia Square — Agoda priced the same room at $1,470/week versus Booking.com's $2,346.
For Melbourne's 387 CBD properties (median $220/night on Booking.com in May 2026), switching to the cheapest available platform typically saves 10–30%. On a 7-night Melbourne stay, that's $154–$462 in savings from a platform comparison alone — without changing the hotel or the dates.
The cities and properties where savings are largest: Sydney and Melbourne CBD hotels, Gold Coast resorts, and 4–5 star properties where platform competition for high-value bookings is most intense.
What Peakah Searches
| Platform | Best for |

| Expedia | Bundle bookings, mid-to-luxury tier, Expedia Rewards |
| Wotif | Regional Australian accommodation, Qantas points, Australian-first interface |
| Hotels.com | Loyalty bookings (1 free night per 10), frequent travellers |
| Stayz | Holiday houses, beach apartments, multi-bedroom self-contained stays |
Who Peakah Is Built For
Peakah is built for Australian domestic travellers — people booking a staycation, a school holiday trip, a long weekend away, or a city visit within Australia. It's particularly useful for trips where accommodation is a significant share of the budget: a 7-night Gold Coast school holiday (where a platform switch from Booking.com to Agoda saved the average family $269), a 5-night Sydney trip for a special occasion, or a wine region stay where boutique accommodation runs $300–$700 per night.
It's also useful for travellers who book frequently and want to ensure they're not defaulting to the same platform out of habit. Booking platforms don't have uniform pricing — and the traveller who checks only Booking.com is almost certainly paying more than the traveller who checks all six at once.
Peakah vs Google Hotels vs Traditional OTAs
Google Hotels shows some price comparison across platforms, but its coverage is not comprehensive and it doesn't surface Agoda or Stayz inventory reliably for Australian searches. Traditional OTAs (Booking.com, Agoda, Wotif) show you only their own inventory at their own prices — they have no incentive to tell you that a competitor is cheaper for the same room.
Peakah's model is different: it has no preferred platform and no financial incentive to direct you to a more expensive option. The goal is to find the lowest available rate, regardless of which platform it comes from.
Start Comparing
Search 1,114 Australian destinations — from Sydney and Melbourne to Airlie Beach, Yamba, Kangaroo Island and beyond — at peakah.com. Enter your destination, pick your dates, and see the cheapest available rate for every property across every platform in one place.
Peakah for Families and Groups
Family travel in Australia has a particular pricing challenge: as group size grows beyond two adults, hotel room pricing becomes less efficient than self-contained apartment or house stays. Peakah's inventory includes Stayz properties — entire homes, beach houses, and self-contained apartments — alongside hotels, so a family searching for 6-night Gold Coast accommodation can compare a 3-bedroom apartment on Stayz against five separate hotel rooms on Booking.com, with total cost shown for each option.
For groups of 4 or more, the per-person cost of a self-contained property is almost always lower than an equivalent number of hotel rooms. Peakah surfaces both options in the same search, making the comparison direct rather than requiring the traveller to check multiple platforms separately.
Peakah's Coverage: 1,114 Australian Destinations
Peakah's destination network covers 1,114 Australian locations — from the major capitals to coastal towns, wine regions, alpine destinations and outback stops. Every destination with meaningful accommodation inventory is searchable. The 1,114 pages include the expected (Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Cairns) and the specific (Yamba, Kalbarri, Crescent Head, Coffin Bay, Halls Gap). If you're planning an Australian trip, the destination exists in Peakah's database.
For each destination, Peakah shows properties from the hotel database filtered to your radius — typically a 5km city-centre radius for urban searches, wider for regional destinations where accommodation is more dispersed. The search results are ranked by price by default, with filters for star rating, review score, property type and amenities.
